It all started with a lightbulb moment scribbled on a napkin over coffee. For years, this idea simmered in the background, waiting for its moment to shine. In 2020, that moment arrived when a local assisted living facility approached us with a unique challenge: they needed a shade sail that could “move with the sun.”
This request ignited our passion for innovation. We dove headfirst into months of rigorous design and development, pushing the boundaries of what was possible in shade technology. Our hard work and creativity paid off when we were awarded a patent for our groundbreaking “Shade Sail Structure Inc.” and our company was born—a testament to our commitment to excellence and innovation in the industry.

At Shade Sail Structure Inc., we’re more than just a company—we’re a part of the Lynchburg, Virginia community. We fabricate everything in house, in our shop facility that was built in 2023. We include all in house powder coating and CNC machine work in every structure we create.

At the helm of Shade Sail Structure Inc. is Jeremy Funderburk, a master steel fabricator with over two decades of experience in design, ornamental fabrication, and welding. Jeremy’s journey in craftsmanship began in the U.S. Navy, where he honed his skills and developed an unwavering work ethic.
Jeremy’s naval background instilled in him a deep-seated commitment to precision, reliability, and outstanding customer service. These values form the cornerstone of our company culture, driving us to continuously innovate and improve our offerings.
